Faculties 

​The staff of PS comprise of international and indigenous members, whose diverse cultures, and wealth of knowledge constitute important part of the learning culture in the school. All staff  hold a minimum of Bachelors’ degree, and most teachers hold Master’s degrees or more in their chosen fields of specialization. All staff is expected to exhibit high level of professionalism in their duties and model good character. PS believes that teachers should remain in tune with the changing trends in education. Hence, PS provides continuous training for its faculty through various professional development programs provided within and outside of the school.

Pearlville School engages in a rigorous staff recruitment process to employ highly qualified teachers who are committed to providing best practices in education, and are willing to go beyond their call of duty in order to cater to the needs of our students.  Recruitment involves on-line screening tests, comprehensive interviews, demonstration lessons, and document/certificate review.  Teachers constantly engage in professional development training in order to keep abreast of the current and changing trends in educational practices.

Mentors

Every year, each student is assigned a mentor by the Academic Director as a resource for school and community-related information, issues related to the student’s grade level, and the student’s individual progress. The mentor is the primary contact between a student and her family and the school. The relationship between a mentor and a mentee is an important one. It is based on the expectation that all communication will be open and honest. In the event of any concerns, either or on the part of the student or her parents, the mentor is the first point of engagement/contact. Mentors meet with their mentees in small groups on a weekly basis and attend class meetings with their mentees. All mentors are coached and supervised by the Academic Director.

​Conference Times

Conference times are scheduled regularly to allow students the opportunity for additional attention and extra help from teachers. Students are encouraged to seek assistance from their teachers during the designated conference times.
